Kaziranga

Habitat loss, Expansion of tea gardens, Excessive demands from the zoos, Poaching, Game hunting and Railway tracks had pushed the Iconic species of Kaziranga to its brink of Extinction. Can you imagine the fact that a Dozen of those quadrupeds were able to bring the attention of Lady Curzon, wife of Lord Curzon who was the viceroy of India in those days and started the most successful conservation history in natural world. During her visit to Naharjan Tea Estate she visited Kaziranga and could not find a Rhino. With grief she returned to her husband and expressed about the plight of Rhinoceros in Kaziranga and urged him to take immediate action to protect these animals from extinction. From then onwards Kaziranga had never looked back. Now kaziranga host over 2600 rhinos over 100 tigers. Apart from rhinos and tigers kaziranga is teeming with Elephants, Wild Buffaloes, Swamp Deer, Hoolock Gibbon and many many different species of birds. Now its a paradise for every nature enthusiasts from beginners to professional photographers.
