Wildlife Safari in Kaziranga National Park

A tiger

Welcome to Kaziranga one of the most exciting National Parks in India. Established in the year 1974 as a National Park, as a World Heritage Site in the year 1985 and as a Tiger Reserves in the year 2007 where it holds the most elusive elephant grassland in its heart. Because of its alluvial grassland and wetland it sheltered some of the most enigmatic animals of the world. It has a reputation of holding the world’s largest population of Great Indian Rhinoceros. Though the population went down as low as 12 individual in the area before 1905 it offers you over 2600 Rhinoceros at the present moment. Because of the pioneering efforts of the then Chief commissioner of Assam JC Arbuthnot, lady Victoria Curzon the wife of Lord Curzon Kazirnga reached the height as it seems today. Kaziranga not only has a huge number of Rhinos but also has a large population of Royal Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Elephants, Asiatic Water Buffalos, Eastern Swamp Deer, Hog Deer, Capped Langur, Hoolock Gibbon. It also has rarely seen Chinese Pangolin, Fishing Cat, Leopard cat, Common Leopard, Palm Civet, Malayan Giant Squirrel, Smooth Coated Otters etc. Bird life also never fails to mesmerize the eyes of the viewers as it holds 3 types of Hornbills, Blue Naped Pitta, Swamp Francolins, many Waterbirds, many Raptor species etc.
